Bar Stool Regatta Notice of Race
Interested sailors come compete for fun and prizes without ever leaving the Club!
Rules: The races will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing
Where: The Yacht Club of HHI Clubhouse
When: March 4, 2023 from 3pm to 5:00
Entry: A capacity for fun
Eligibility: The event is open to anyone interested in sailboats and racing.
Fees: A jovial attitude
Crew: size 1 to 3. Come with a team of or by yourself
Bar open for beer, wine, and soft drinks. Snacks will be provided by the race committee.
An Introduction to Sailing Terms and Skills
March 28th
James Dickie (jwdickie843@spectrum.net) and Debbie Plonski (dlplonski3@aol.co) are
hosting an introduction to and/or refresher course on basic sailing. They will be covering
such things as:
- Terms: i.e, when is a rope a line and when is it a sheet
- Responsibilities: what is expected of you as a crew member
- Big boats vs small boats
- And much, much more
Whether you have sailed before or are just curious about the sport, come by YCHHI from
6pm to 7pm March 28th. Bring an inquisitive mind and any questions you might have.
Meet others who might want to crew or skippers who might need some crew for the
upcoming sailing season.
Fun sailing

The skippers who have agreed to take other members out on their boats for some fun day
sailing are still working on getting their boats ready. The club will send out emails when
we know they are ready to participate and we can get the activity started for 2023.
